South Korea Digital Nomad Visa (New)

South Korea’s new Digital Nomad Visa lets you live and work remotely in the Land of Morning Calm. 1. Digital Nomad Visa Application

 

2. Eligible Applicants for Digital Nomad Visa

  • (Eligibility) Overseas business owners or foreigners affiliated with international companies who can work remotely and have worked in the same industry for at least one year, and their accompanying family members
  • (Age) 18 years of age or older (except for dependent children)

 

3. Income Requirements

Those with more than twice the GNI per capita of the previous year as announced by the Bank of Korea

4. Subscription to Medical Insurance

It is mandatory to subscribe to individual medical insurance with coverage of at least KRW 100 million for medical treatment and repatriation to the home country during the stay

 

5. Documents to Submit

  • Visa application form (Form No. 17), passport, one standard size photo, fee
  • Documents proving income, such as a certificate of employment, salary certificate, and bank transaction certificate
  • Criminal record certificate, certificate of medical insurance, and certificate of family relations (if accompanied by dependents)
  • Criminal Record Certificate attached with Apostille (Consular Legalization)

 

6. Stay in Korea

  • (Period of stay) One year is granted from the date of entry when registering as a foreigner and extendable for one additional year (maximum two years)
  • (Employment Activities) Employment/profit-making activities are restricted
  • (Change of Status) Those staying in Korea on a short-term tourist visa (B-1, B-2, C-3) are allowed to change to a Digital Nomad (Workcation) visa when meeting the relevant requirements
